Done And Done

Now that I have finished what I set out to do this morning, it's a countdown to the weekend. I am hanging out until 4PM for the hours. At that point, I will have 51 hrs for the week. That will make for one sweet paycheck next week.

So, in the meantime, it's the speed channel and NASCAR Nation, among other shows involving fast cars. Today are the qualifying runs for this weekends races in Martinsville. The track at Martinsville is only .526m miles around. This track, much like Bristol is a place where tempers flare. The track is so small there is almost always a caution before the first lap is even complete. Darlington is another small track, but is over a mile around. These are better known as the short track raceways. A far cry for the 2.6 mile superspeedways like Daytona and Talladega. At the Superspeedways they use restrictor plates that hinder how fast a car will accelerate. This keeps the number of restart accidents down.

I am really looking forward to being very lazy this weekend. Working 51 hours in 5 days tends to wear on a person. But again, it's awesome for the budget.
